MODEL-of-the-moment Gisele Bundchen has just gotten herself
the
hottest accessory of the season: a super-rich boyfriend. The
Brazilian
bombshell, 19, has dumped her old beau, male model Scott
Barnhill,
for Joao-Paulo Diniz, 36, dashing heir to the $1.5
billion
Pao De Acucar fortune, Brazil's largest supermarket chain.
Diniz, who
also owns five restaurants in Sao Paolo, is an avid nightclubber
and
bike racer and has run in the N.Y. Marathon . Diniz, who's
divorced
from another model, won Gisele's heart by helicoptering
her to his
beach house for a romantic weekend.

Poverty Chic?
CHRISTIAN Dior designer John Galliano
caused a ruckus at the Paris
couture shows this week with a collection
that seems to mock the
plight of the homeless. Galliano says his
duds, which included strings
of bottle caps, tea bags and empty whiskey
bottles around the models'
necks and waists, and pants trimmed with pages
from the Herald
Tribune, were inspired by a 10-mile run he
took along the banks of the
Seine, past all the homeless people who live
there. "It's a slap in the
face to the homeless," Xavier Emmanuelli,
president of the French
social services organization SAMU Social fumed
to WWD, "a total lack
of respect for people who can't even help

Pedophilia Man still in the news:
Concerned about charges that a key interview in a
BBC documentary that it
planned to air may have been manipulated by editors,
ABC News has decided to
axe the film, USA Today reported today (Monday).
The film, for which ABC
reportedly agreed to pay $125,000, charges that Gerald
Marie, head of the Elite
model agency, had sex with underage models. In the
current issue of Talk
magazine, Marie accuses the producers of the BBC
film of selectively editing his
remarks in order to "incriminate" him.
The film had been scheduled to air on

I saw the end of this BBC documentary
last night (above). No suprise ABC axed it.
ABC is owned by Disney. A very large media
corporation. I'm sure many Disney
execs live the same lifestyle as Marie. Unless
of course that Disney exec, who
was just recently jailed for picking up teenage girls over the net
was just a
coinicidence? I mean, Elite is the fashion industry. Disney the entertainment.
Just because one industry has a dark side, doesn't mean others do,
right? Riiiight... |
