MODEL HIT BY TRUCK CHEATS DEATH A SECOND

weeks and had to miss Fashion Week when she was hit by a truck that ran a red
light. Both waylaid models are signed with the powerhouse IMG agency, which
also represents Gisele Bundchen, Shalom Harlow and Tyra Banks - but no one

Hi! Okay this is completely un-Fashist related.
Long story short. My old man has been following a political leadership election
going on up here in Canada (well, the whole clan has, but anyways). Anyhoo,
the old man got all excited when he saw one of the would-be leader's website
offer some silly contest (even switch who he wanted after this- he thought it was
friendly). And now sure enough he wants to win.

It goes by points. Easiest way to score points is to send out a Post card and
have people click on this picture - hyperlinking them to this guy's homepage.
I guess, no suprise, only like 5 people decided to "take the contest's challenge".
My old man send old a bunch of these post cards and Shazzam! Was in second
place. But of course the other night this guy mentioned his website on a debate
so like a dozen more people have joined, and the old man was knocked down.

No idea what the winner gets? Probably something useless (afterall this is
politics). But the old man wants to win! So here's the favour I ask you:

- ESCH BOASTS MODEL WEB SITE: Model mogul Dieter Esch says he's laughing at the competition because he's the only one who's figured out how to make serious money off the Internet.

Esch, proprietor of the Wilhelmina agency, which reps supermodel Esther Canadas and others, says that while other agencies have been messing around with their Web sites online, he's quietly made deals with several different sites to give them access to Wilhelmina models' portfolios (i.e. content) and sponsor contests and model searches in exchange for a piece of the business. In addition, the sites pay extra to use Wilhelmina models and celebrities as their spokespeople. - article here

John Casablancas has sold his stake in the agency

People who post anonymous slander on Internet message boards, beware:
Scott Lipps, director of the Karin model agency, which represents Jaime Rishar,
Ehrinn Cummings and Claudelle, is suing two fashion Web sites to get the real
names of those who accused him of scandalous acts on their user forums.

When Fashion Buzz reported in January that top model Frankie Rayder had
defected from Company Management to the Women agency, and that another
mannequin, Megan Shoemaker, went from Women to Company in return, a
Women rep sniffed that Shoemaker "isn't in Frankie's league."

* I can't stand people who act like jerks over msg boards, but I can't stand
people who try to ruin the web more. A person can easily use an Anonymizer.
Lipps is going to have a hard time in court with this one, I'd think. A person
could counter sue for invasion of privacy or something? It's him reacting to
another person's conversation. Now if a person was pretending to be him or
one of his models he was representing, new game there of course. If Lipps is
hell bent on finding out who's who. He could get an IP sniffer?
