own taxes since I was 16.

Despite not finishing school, both Rayder sisters feel many of their experiences
since they started modeling have afforded them another education in world

"Parade" magazine, the weekly insert in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, writer
Walter Scott said, "A handful of supermodels - like Frankie (Heidi) Rayder,
Maggie Rizer, Gisele, Carmen Kass and Naomi Campbell - can command
$40,000 to $50,000 for five to six hours' work at a fashion show."
"It is all relative," Heidi said. "I live in New York City where the cost of living
is unbelievable. I have to pay for my lifestyle here, too.

Also living at home are another brother and sister, who have physical and

* This week, Photo Editor Carla Popenfus resigned to work at Allure, and
Managing Editor Faye Haun also said she is leaving for points unknown.
The once highly profitable title is going through a tough patch. In the first
half of the year, the magazine saw its ad pages tumble 11.6 % to 469 while its
ad revenue dropped off 4.2 % to $27 million. Circulation in the last half of 1999
was down 1.2 % to 1,177,986 but single-copy sales plunged 15.3 % to 466,938.

ID Models' former booker under investigation New York
Leading New York modelling agency ID Model Management confirmed that
there is a federal investigation surrounding its former booker, Wilbert Hill
and his new employer, Karin Models. Hill is alleged to have tampered with
ID Models' computer records, including the deletion of bookings, costing
the agency around $100,000. ID began a civil suit against Hill in late June.
FBI special agents are reportedly investigating both Hill and Karin Models'
Jean-Luc Brunel. While civil actions against bookers are not rare, ones that

Finally caught that Survivor show again. I always seem to miss it. I like it.
I wonder what would happen if 16 top fashion models were stranded on
an island and were to be voted off. Who would be the survivor, the
Fashion Survivor? I'm guessing Gisele Bundchen would date the show's
producer and dump him after she'd won.

And when will our Prime Minister call the actual by-election in the Okanagan?

Saw X-Men. I like it. Funny thing- Wolverine is introduced in some fictional
town, but a town everyone's been through (like a Dawson Creek, ie. Redneck-
ville), up here in Alberta, Canada. Here being Alberta, the entire audience when
they saw the caption: "Somewhere in Northern Alberta", just roared out happily!

Leonardo Heart-Broken As Gisele Dumps Him For Former Boyfriend

Leonardo DiCaprio is crushed after his new girlfriend Gisele Bundchen
ran back into the arms of her former beau. The supermodel used to date
Brazilian supermarket heir Joao-Paulo Diniz but dumped the 36-year-old
when she met the Titanic heart-throb - although now she's changed her
mind. Last month Diniz and Bundchen were spotted cosying up during
a romantic dinner and a few days later she was caught sneaking out of
his apartment building. A friend of DiCaprio says, "Leo's crushed. He's
really fallen for this girl. He keeps a picture of her with him. Leo's dated
a lot of models but Gisele is something really special. She's back with Joao
and Leo's heart-broken." Diniz is worth an estimated $1.5 billion, says the
friend, "Leo's going to have to cough up some major dough and do
something really spectacular if he wants to impress Gisele and win her back."

FASHION INDUSTRY THROWS A CURVE TO SUPERMODELS

Brazilian fashion models are increasingly in demand these days, and that's
positive for women everywhere, says Julia Robson. "They are curvaceous,"
says Robson, deputy fashion editor at the London Daily Telegraph. "The
Brazilian models will help bring in fashions that needs curves." Robson didn't
see too many curves at a recent fashion show in Milan. In fact, she says many
European models are "slightly frightening" because they are so tall (5-11, 6 feet)
and so thin. That's exactly one reason Tessa Jowell, Britain's minister of women,
decided to organize last month's Body Image Summit in London. - more here

Now, Rio's top swimwear designers feel it is time to say so long to the
thong. The new collections, which will be on sale in two months, in time
for the start of the Brazilian summer, feature conventional bikinis with a
