Yanks 'Neo-Nazi' Clothing Off Shelves
Yahoo! - Target stores remove clothing marked with
the Neo-Nazi code "88".
(Target didn't realize they were carrying
Nazi themed clothes. I believe them. Who would know, other than
the people in that sub-culture or those who watches them, that '88'
is code for "Heil Hitler"? Other stores should do themselves
a favour a check their own stores.)
+ Tween
fashion means being different, just like everyone else
National Post - Marketing experts say kids, especially
girls,by age nine or 10, they're already coming of age as consumers.
(That's sick! I really wish the fashion industry
wouldn't target kids. What next. Fashion mags with 14 and 15 year
old models dressed up as whores. Oh wait.. too late.
Article quote from a 11 year
old girl: "Yes, I'm wearing Juicy Couture sweatpants right
now," she says enthusiastically. "It says 'Juicy' on my
bum in velvet.")

Spears tops Madonna on annual worst-dressed list
Hello! - Britney edged out Madonna for the worst-dressed
on the Prima magazine readers poll.
(Remember when Madonna was actually considered
cool in fashion. She was even Pop magazine's "icon". I
find it suiting that these two would be seen by some as the worst
dressed. Considering they're probably the two biggest influence
on 11 year old girls who wear clothes with "Juicy" written
on the bum)

is a bad dresser, hmmm. (Britney

Simone and CQ
Simone did not make on its opening weekend 4.1 million
dollars. It made 3.8 million, still good for 9th place. As of Monday,
it reaches 4.1 million, after dropping in sales by 65% from Sunday.
CQ may have finished its North American run (8/22?). It has made
in North America, $404,332.
Can you believe still some newspapers and web sites
actually believed Simone's makers, that Rachel Roberts was a computer
image. But not all were so easily fooled.
+ New
Line Remains Mum About 'Simone' Identity
Zap2it - The actress is an amalgam -- a bit of Grace
Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Madonna,
Marilyn Monroe, Whitney Houston and many more. She looks like Julia
Roberts, Charlize Theron and Cameron Diaz.

Is a Real Girl After All
Zap2it - However, a number of press sources have
pointed out that the character has an uncanny resemblance to Canadian
model Rachel Roberts
(me being one who pointed it out to them.
Don't get me wrong. It was dumb of Zap2it to fall for it. But Zap2it
is a good site.)

National Post - Digital star is played by a real

National Post, with files from news services - Did you know Simone
is actually a actress? *gasp*
(I'm thinking the studio that released Simone,
should of built up the Rachel and the effects to make her look digital.
Instead of the dumb 3.8 opening weekend idea of saying Simone was
a digital actress all along. Maybe the studio highered who ever
does Gap commercials to maket their movie. That would explain everything!
Speaking of Gap's new Shalom Harlow commercial. Kinda provacative,
eh?)
+ Simone
'as herself' looks a lot like a certain model
USA Today - film that purports to be a satire of
the dangerous power of cinematic illusion
(I hope one day there are digital actors and
actresses. Maybe then studios won't be so dumb in paying so much
to actors, and ticket prices will go down)

Herself, with no mention of Roberts. Roberts name will
be added to the credits when the film comes out on video.

BBC - France's perfume producers are up in arms over
a recent European Parliament directive which would force them to disclose
the secrets of their centuries-old craft.

Hi everyone! Been busy, working on other things
this past week. And before that, I had server troubles (happens
to all servers at some point. It's a pain, but it happens, once
every blue moon).
I can't believe people (movie reviewers, entertainment
writers, etc) actually fell for thinking Simone,
from the movie, Simone, was actually a computer person! How stupid
do you have to be! Geez, I even correctly a couple. You'd think
after the 80s' Max Headroom, everyone's first guess would be an
actress. I guess Rachel
Roberts (Simone, she plays. Click on the hyperlink to see
some scans), I've heard, isn't even credited in the movie. Part
of the trick of the studio saying, Simone was computer generated.
I'll stick up some articles to show. You Fashist!
visitors can have a good laugh on behalf of these professional writers,
who fell for it.
Simone
on its opening weekend came in 9th place, with a North American
take of around $4 million. I don't know how much the movie costed?
Obviously if Simone was a computer, then the cost would be probably
around 150+ million (Spider-man costed thanks to all of its computer
effects, over $130 million). I'm sure with an opener of 4 mil, the
studio is glad Simone was Rachel Roberts and not FX. I don't know
the actual cost, but I'm sure they over-paid Al Pacino. They've
spent so far 25 mil on marketing. Talk about a money lost just over
that. 4 mil? That's awful. Even a thousand more theatres might of
just gotten it another 2 million. Speaking of movies. Star Wars
STILL isn't over 300 mil! C'mon people. Go see it again. Not only
can't you sit and let Star Wars not get over 300 million. You have
to get up another 7 mil. If Clones on the all-time can't get past
ID4! Independence Day was awful. Help Clones pass ID4.
I notice out of the Canadian mags, Canada Fashion
magazine, thought ahead buy having Rachel
Roberts on their cover. She's Canadian, after all. I never got
this month's Elle
(guess they didn't like my negative review. What can I say? Last
month's was a bad issue! Previous months were real good. It was
getting almost to a point where the US Elle might of been ignored).
I notice Cdn Elle is doing commercials! Hope they keep some money
for the editorials. I don't much like the fact my tax dollars go
to a magazine's tv commercial (our spend allot gov't has a tax payer
funded magazine free-4-all fund, for magazines. Doesn't matter if
they're a money maker or loser. They all get free money). Hey, fancy
this.. Elle's editor talks a bit about Milan. Unfortunely she doesn't
mention what I've trying to look up on Milan all week! Is there
a website with the upcoming fashion shows, their schedules, information.
London
has a good one. Or, exactly how far from city center does one not
want to be? Where to go, what do you tip on, are taxi expensive,
does the service in restaurants suck (like it sure does in Amsterdam!)?
You know, information. I don't suppose I have any Milanese visitors
or anyone who's been there? I'm curious about Milan, let's just
say.

Okay, call this a quick rant..
What's with the SJP covers? She has to be
one of the least glamorous actresses out there to choose from (if
they want a SitC girl. Pick the brunette or redhead girl, at least).
I look at her, and I think of a children's story of 3 goats trying
to cross a bridge, with SJP living under the bridge. I understand
the "supermodel" has been replaced with the "superactress".
Fashion editors, designers and modeling agents only have themselves
to blame here for some of the choices they picked over the last
few years to be the current faces of fashion.
What I'd like to see. Since I greatly prefer
models over celebrities. Stop hiring "everyone's" kids.
If they need a job, let them apply at Burger World or become a groupie
for a Poison revival tour. Next, I wish they'd get off this androgenous
trip they've been on for years. Let girls be girls! Let women look
like women! Don't hirer a male model who looks like An Oost, then
stick him beside An Oost, who's been made up to look like a 13 year
old boy. If they spent all this energy on trying to make a girl
model look like a guy, and put into trying to make a girl model
look glamour [and try to make male models look like guys who could
star in a movie like James Bond or xXx, instead of some flower puff
dandy boy (any guy who obviously looks high maintenance and more
concern with getting a facial and his toe nails done, or cries after
watching Dr.Phil on Oprah) or someone who looks so ill, they
might topple over under the weight of the feathers and fur they
are wearing]. Maybe then they wouldn't have to rush out for actresses
and actors to fill the void; whom in their movies are never made
to be anything but perfection (Russel Crowe as a math genius?? Come
on! But you get my point, I hope).
Well, it's there bottom dollar. I don't mind
holding onto my dollar until I see something more that I like.

+ ELSON
WINS BATTLE WITH ANOREXIA
UK Vogue - Karen Elson has finally opened up about
the eating disorder that has plagued her since the age of seven.
(So instead of using her story for just an article.
How about a cover for the girl? I'm speaking to you, US Vogue and
UK Vogue. While you're at it. How about one for An Oost, Marie-eve
Nadaeu, Georgina Grenville, face it, you miss her. And how about one
with Tasha Tilberg and Liisa Winkler, any Canadian is good. Cristina
Kruse or the girl who should of gotten the SI cover, Michelle Behenneh.
I'll stop there before I end up naming half the models out there.
Like Missy Rayder, and whatever happen too Diane Heidkruger? Malgosia
Bela makes a nice cover too. But start off with Karen, An, and how
about Marie-eve, or some Canadian. Because Canada=sales! Let's
face it. Cool Britannia is a cold fish. Maybe English Cool could help
rebuild things. We were made to suffer though Belguim Chic. I'm drowning
in a sea of silicon after Brazil. A little Canadian Cool never hurted
nobody. It rolls off one's tongue so easily, "Canada Cool".
It's like a name of a top night club, or ginger ale company. Let's
say it again, "Canada Cool". But, if you do fashion... come
to "Western" Canada. Not the uncool Eastern area. ;-) Now
that's what I call going off-topic.)

UK Vogue - Lauren Bush becoming a style icon?
(Okay Europe. It have one of two choices. (1)
Tell you leaders to help USA vs Iraq. Or, (2) Have Lauren Bush as
your next fashion icon. I'll go tell President Bush to keep his morning
free. Something tells me, he's going to be getting called by a few
Euro leaders any moment now. ;-) ) |

A couple of Adriana Sklenarikova
Karembeu, fans wrote in to response to a comment I made on Adriana,
Playboy, and Wonderbra.
Adriana is still with Wonderbra.
She has not been replaced. Inna Zobova is the new Wonderbra girl,
but Adriana will be also, till at least until June 2003, because
of her contract extension. The Playboy thing is unrelated, and she
did it simply because she wanted too.
I'll just say this. It's been my
observation, usually whenever a fashion model does pose in American
PB (the point being the American edition meant for a American audience),
it's too drum up attention, exposure, get the press talking about
them, for some reason or another (a movie jump, a career jump start
or comeback, or to show off themselves, cause either they want to
get attention from other mens' style mags. Or they've been doing
similar editorials in regular women European fashion magazines already.
So PB is just another magazine). Why Adriana did, frankly, I honestly
don't care. I'm not even a fan of Inna Zobova.
