Slowly(!!) catching up on updates..

November 30, 2002
Hi everyone.
Just an update to let you know what's up with the lack of updates.
I've been swamped still with various things. Its prevented me to
find the time to do updates. Here's hoping December won't be the
same. Though I'm thinking of changing this site's appearance? It's
something I've thought of doing for some time. If so, then the archives
for awhile would be in the old format.
Overall things on the web seem to be about the same, fashion wise.
Usual sites updating, etc. The Fashist!Forums, as always a great
source for magazine updates, occasional scans, and fashion news
and thoughts from the buyer of magazines (consensus seems to be
a tiring of allot of the stuff being thrown out. Magazines seem
to be out of touch. Hoping one "cool" cover or use of
a well known model can cover it up. (I think handing out some pink
slips and looking for new people for a new direction is in order).
Lucire is celebrating
its 5th year.
On Usenet (easynews)
bit more to say.
alt.binaries.pictures.supermodels
- lots of scans, current ones from 3-4 scanners can be found just
about every week. alt.binaries.pictures.victoria.secret
has VS scans and a couple movies of the recent CBS Victoria's Secrets
TV show special, in it.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion show, on CBS, tied for 44th place,
with a 7.2 (10.5 million viewers in North America). The US TV trend
has certainly change. November here in North America is a "sweeps"
month. That's month when TV networks throw out the big stuff to
get the highest ratings. Then with the ratings from sweep months,
they go to advertisers and ask for more money. The trend once was
that specials, like the VS show, brought in bigger ratings. Not
anymore. Viewers seem to just want to watch the shows they normally
enjoy. The VS show came in 3rd place, after the other networks'
usual shows. The Bachelor's finale (ABC) and Westwing (NBC) beat
it conveniently, with a 16.3 and a 10.2, respectively. CBS' news
show, 60 Minutes 2, from a week before, even got a higher viewership
than the VS special. But got half the viewership the same week as
the VS show (60 Mins 2 was on before the VS show). CBS is spinning
it, saying the show got a big "young males" audience.
Which I doubt! Yes guys love to watch pretty girls in little bits
of clothes, but... it's VS and on American television! I'm sure
if a 13 year old boy wanted a "skin" fix that night, then
he was surfing the web...
I realize it's just filler for CBS. So I don't blaime them. I can
only guess VS is hoping for bragging rights. "We were on America's
#1 TV network!". Too bad there target audience was elsewhere.
Too bad for the sucker advertisers! You got played... (hey, to the
advertisers of the VS show. If you want to toss away money. Why
not not toss some my way. I'll at least reach your target audience
;-) ).

I'm still swamped with non-Fashist stuff. I hope to finally not
be soon! In the meantime, visit the Forums :-)

The Victoria Secret's show, on CBS
November 20th
(They should of saved this for the Spring,
during re-run season. Current US TV trends show "November Sweeps
Special" shows aren't as welcomed as familiar favourite shows.
CBS has too many top shows on Thursday night to waste its viewer's
time on some edited PG-rated lingerie show... though someone on
my forum
mentioned a anti-fur crazy idiot jumped the stage with anti-Gisele
signs... what a loser peta is. Hopefully they won't edit it out.
Now if only Russel Crowe could of been in the crowd to start a fight.
Then it'd be a MUST SEE show. Girls in underwear and a drunk Kiwi
beating up anti-fur crazies.... sounds like an Emmy award winner
to me)

(Makes you wonder what it would be like if well
known or better known bran names from UK or Europe used Amazon to
help break into the US market. Need shoes, order some Bally or Clone.
Want lingerie, view the Agent Provocateur gallery. Or how about accessories.
Need to get your girl that new Dior bag she wants. Order it off Amazon
and save money. European customers could order off US or Canada Amazon
and save allot of money in such a case!)
