Sorry for the lack of updates the past 2 weeks. I'll try to get an update done today. I've bookmarked off a bunch of new stuff. Articles, new fashion scan sites, updates, scans. Lots~! going on the Fashist!Forums. Lots of reviews too.

So I'll try for a catch-up update before May strikes us. I'm also going to be away for a couple weeks, but unlike other times. I may still be able to update, thanks to my new notebook. The mailing list was down, but is up again. I corrected the Archives URLs.

Jaime talk
There's talk about ex-model Jaime King these days, as she stars in MGM's "Bulletproof Monk". Even if the critics don't like it, the 52 mil USD project grossed 19.2 mil USD in its first 11 days and the future seems optimistic in the video/dvd market. Officialy up to now Jaime is not yet booked for any future project.

Fashist!Fact:

Cameron Diaz will be the cover girl for May's issue of American Vogue. The last time a fashion model was the cover was October 2002, with not-so new comer, Christy Turlington. 2002 had two fashion models. None which would be consider the current top crop of models, nor fresh (ie. new) upcoming faces. Those two were the before mentioned, Turlington. The other, model and trying hard to be an actress, Amber Valletta, with her son.

2001 can only be seen now as a testing year for covers. With a mix of top fashion models, popular celebrities at that time and even a woman athlete.

2000 had nine months of models, with two months' covers having more than one model. This would be the last year of American Vogue using fashion's current top models for its covers. Gisele Budchen was in three of the nine model months. Carmen Kass also got three. Angela Lindvall, twice.

Pagesix - Various celebs signed a letter to Dolce & Gabanna, asking them not to support the seal fur industry of Canada. Using the tired-old bleeding heart tactic of showing pictures of cute baby seals (they are cute.. as babies. Then they grow up into hideous barking slabs of fat). This tactic, as any Canadian remembers, was used by enviro-types in the 80s, to great success! Too successful. Now there is a seal over population in the Canadian north, destroying the marine life enviorment (since they eat all the fish).

Hello! - A Canadian lingerie company has refused to pay model Eva Herzigova for a recent shoot, claiming it didn't like her short haircut – and now the former Wonderbra vixen has filed a lawsuit to collect the $30,000 fee.
(How to comment on that?? Her hair? I could understand if it was her new skeleton look. On the flip side.. I'm not sure which Canadian lingerie company this is? But believe me. They could use the exposure that having Eva as their face should bring! Again, I can understand a lingerie or bikini company not wanting to use Skeletor Herzigova because of her current ultra thin body. Hair? People won't be looking at Eva's hair when she's in lingerie. Hopefully this company finds a good replacement. One that has world-wide fashion cred to her. And hopefully it won't be Linda Evangelista!

Update: Within a minute of my posting today's update. I got a answer on which CDN Lingerie company. La Senza.
La Senza seems to be at a crossroad. It needs to expend and could be successful. But it needs then a big well known face to help it. Or it will just remain a "Canadian company". While Russia's Wild Orchid and the multiplying London lingerie companies continue to grow.)

First Fashist! had heard American fashion model, Erin Wasson was being considered for the role of Helen in the upcoming big budget Hollywood movie epic, Troy. It was a rumour. Remembering the Nina Brosh in Star Wars rumour, how many reported that, and were wrong (the role went to Natalie Portman. I believe Nina Brosh was never even considered). Fashist! waited to to find out more. Then recently, it looked like the role was to go to actress, Claire Forlani. Nothing is officially was announced.

Until now. And Helen will not be Claire and will have a fashion connection after all. - HSB

I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of poor Claire, many people in the industry seemed to be 99% certain until yesterday that it would be her -Basilio

Diane's great chance
German model Diane Kruger, an ex Royal Ballet student who had to abandon dancing after an accident, was hand selected by his majesty, Wolfgang Petersen, to appear as Helen of Troy in Warner's upcoming epic "Troy". The film, based in ancient Greek poem "Iliad" by Homer, is due for a wide release in late spring 2004, just before the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Diane Heidkrueger, as her real name is, is a hot selling name these days in the French film industry, being Luc Besson's protege. In fact she is about to star in Besson's upcoming "Michel Vaillant", set in Formula One racing, based in Jean Graton's cult comic of the 50s. "Troy" will be her first Hollywood film. Stay tuned to Yahoo!Movies: Troy(2004), for an official announcement of her role and the upcoming link to the official under construction website.

Gisele the Jinx?
The celebrity flag waver for the Brazilian GP 2002, was a Brazilian soccer player. The promoters wanted to make sure his mistake didn't happen again. That's why Gisele went through training, to wave flags..

Gisele the jinx?

It was Formula One time in São Paulo, Brazil today. Gisele Bundchen, given the honors of waving the finish flags, for the second year in the row. A year ago, she messed up by missing the winner cross the line. Proving it must take more brain and skill to wave a couple flags then to be a fashion model. Reported; organizers put Gisele through an intensive flag waving 101.

The world waited to see if the best known model currently in the world could come through for the race, better than she has for high fashion and magazines, which despite Gisele being the face of fashion, have been going through a decline. Even Naomi Campbell was spotted at the race. Gisele was ready. She was trained now. She would be a flag waving expert!

But it would not be! It was a day of racing disasters. First rain. Then a dangerous corner which claimed many cars. The race was red flagged. The race was stopped early. Mrs Bundchen, who's been on hundreds of magazine covers. Got to close the day at the NYSE. Gisele's day would end in the paddock. The world would not witness her flag waving prowess.

The governing body of Formula One, the FIA, or the organizers of the Brazil GP. Have not at this time made any statements on whether Gisele would be invited back next year. I only hope: Third time's the charm. Or better yet.. ask a different Brazilian model. I'm sure one of the Ana's could do it.

Naomi strikes again
Though she was not casted for an appearence in Quentin Tararantino's upcoming "Kill Bill" (reportedly, the producers were rather nervous at her reputation), supermodel Naomi Cambell, at 32, is attempting once more to make the screen. She will star as a stripper alongside Drea Di Matteo ("The Sopranos) in "Go Go Tales". The film, set in a NYC strip club, sounds like a mid/low budget comedy. If the film succeeds, Naomi will also star in a mini tv series based on the same script.

Devon's street racing
Supermodel Devon Aoki appears as Suki in John Singleton's ("Shaft") sequel to "The Fast And The Furious". The film, working title "2 Fast 2 Furious", is set in Maimi, where Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), stripped of his police badge, is attempting to clean the Miami street racing
circuit. "2F2F" is produced by Original Film and is due for a wide theater release in June 6th by Universal. Have a taste at its web site.

Natalia Vodianova

Russian TV (NTV) recently interviewed and spotlighted, Natalia Vodianova.

The reporter met Natalia at her home in Nizhny Novgorog. Her home in New York, and during the last Milan fashion week. She had her 21st birthday during it.

The show was called "Princess from Nizhny Nivgorod". It made Natalia look more like the Eminem of modeling rather than Cinderella.

- Her favourite photographer is Bruce Weber. He's trying to convince Natalia in getting into acting classes now.

- Chanel campaign this season managed to be her but she choosed exclusive Calvin campaign over many other offers. Frankie Rayder got Chanel because Natalia declined it.

- Week before September attack in 2001 they (her, Justin and Lucas) moved to New York. Their new apartment was close to the Twin Towers. They saw how Twin Towers were ruined right from their window and dust covered their building after.

- In her beggining, in 1999, photographer Vladimir Fridkes rejected her from photoshoot for Russian Bazaar.

- She was the tallest and thinniest girl in school. She thought of herself as really ugly - she thought her nose was too big, and her legs were too skinny . She almost stop studying at 14, when she started to sell fruits.

- During her last visit in Nizhny Novgorod she tried to experience some adventures and decided to visit night club wich she use to visit before she left Nizhny Novgorod, and 15 people were going to cut her face, only bodyguard saved her! Justin was scared and got realy drunk during it. Roughly Natalia's comments on it: "This is just envy. Those people (old buddies who wanted cut her face) haven't changed at all, all what they can do is just to drink vodka".

- Natalia and Justin are like Paul and Stella McCartney. Always togather.
