Gisele gets a gig..
Gisele Bundchen will play the villain in a remake of a French comedy,
"Taxi". Gisele will play the bank robber being chased
in the movie. The movie stars, Queen Latifah, as the taxi driver,
and Jimmy Fallon, as the detective. The movie's producers include,
Ice Cube and Luc Besson (who
also is credited with the story of the movie). This movie is currently
in production.
[A
movie with both Gisele and Fallon in it? Sounds like a real stinker
to me.]

news:

Fernada Taveras, keeping to her activist stance versus fur, was
spotted wearing a anti-fur shirt during the NY fashion week.
[Will
this hurt her in getting future jobs? I doubt it. She's become a
real "it" girl of late. I myself think it's wrong for
models to get political, and just plain stupid to get political
against the industry which gave them everything have have. She might
not be asked for Haute Couture, but I'm sure she'll be in demand
for shows and PR opportunities for designers who share her anti-fur
feelings.]

Heidi Klum..
Heidi Klum was in talks with American Playboy for a (nude) photoshoot,
reports the NY Post. She was offered a million dollars but talks
broke down over creative control. Reported, Heidi wanted a woman
photographer, a black and white spread and a black and white cover.
Talks broke down over the cover.
[Sounds
more like to me, Heidi wants more money, and/or more control over
the shoot. Less shown, fewer photos being published. Those sort
of things. It wouldn't surprise me to hear at some later date Heidi
will be in Playboy. It also won't surprise me to hear Heidi appearing
nude
in some other magazine, like a GQ. Models seem less picky when dealing
with other magazines. Only Playboy seems gets hit up by models for
more. If Playboy really wants a model who's known well to guys (who
get guy mags) and doubtful would be difficult to work with. Try
Josie
Marnan. Or grab a couple lesser known models, who appear in other
men mags, Victoria's Secrets or SI, like the Ana Hickman name level.]

Astrological statistic paradox..
Did you know, in a non-scientific statistic (ie. someone on the
Fashist!Forum who knows a lot about models and astrology); In a
very narrow period of the year (Sep 14 to Sep 23) six out of thirty
or forty contemporary supermodels celebrated their birthday. Carmen,
Dewi, Caroline R.,
Fernanda, Eugenia and Alyssa. Statisticaly, there should be only
one supermodel, instead of six.

Balenciaga: No Show
WWD reports designer Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga will
not stage a runway show in any fashion capital. No reason given.
Paris organizers hope to still have a Balenciaga show.

Christy Turlington confirms her runway retirement. A few loyal
friends like Marc Jacobs and Helmut Lang ask me to regularly, but
I have no desire to. When I said goodbye to it, I had no interest
in going back, she said Thursday night at a Nuala-sponsored
party and benefit sale for Steve McMurrys work to benefit
Adopt-A-Minefield.

Michelle Behennah's Global Internet Venue, is now "off the
air"
Michelle Behennah's Global Internet Venue, one of the longest running
and certainly popular model web site of the web shut its doors earlier
this month.
[MBGI
is a site I know. It started shortly after I started my first fashion
oriented web site. Over the years I got to know its web master,
Sage, quite well. A great guy, who ran one of the most successful
model sites ever put on the web. There is definetly an empty space
on the
web which won't be easy to replace. I'm sure I speak for a lot of
visitors to the site, when I say, "Thank you".]
